JABALPUR DARSHAN

  • THERE ARE SEVERAL PLACES TO VISIT AT JABALPUR , MOST OF THEM ARE LISTED BELOW
            




                                   1. BHEDAGHAT
  •  15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the city. Boat rides on Narmada river specially in moonlight , flowing through the breathtakingly breathtakingly beautiful Marble Rocks on both sides famous for many Bolywood movie climaxes to near the Dhuandhar falls are available. In the 45 minute ride the boatman describes the various spots in a singsong hilarious manner.He also tells the story of Bhura, the crocodiles and many that lurk downsream.

  • Its major attraction is a waterfall known as Dhuandhar, which looks like smoke coming out of the river and therefore it got its name as "Dhuan(smoke)-dhar(flow of water)". Another major attraction is 'Bandar Kodini', when one travels in between the marble rocks in a boat, the mountains at both the sides at one point come so close that the monkeys are able to jump across them, hence the name "Bandar Kodini". In a moonlit night, the travel between the marble rock mountains in a boat on the river Narmada is one of the popular tourist attractions here.

                     1.(a)THE CHAUNSATH YOGNI TEMPLE,
  •  This is also a place To visit  Near Bhedhaghat
  • The temple is one of the four major extant temples containing carvings of sixty four yogini, female yoga mystics. It was built in the 10th century under the Kalachuris 






2.GAURIGHAT
  • The driving distance from Railway station to Gauri Ghat is 6 km.
  • Every day, there is a Narmada Aarti at Gwari ghat in Jabalpur city. Gwari ghat is to the south of the city and a short auto or cab ride from the center. The aarti begins at 7:15 pm sharp and lasts about half hour.

  • The ghat itself is a large area on the banks of the river. The riverbed is about half km wide at this point and across the river is a Gurudwara. If you happen to reach early, you can take a boat and visit the Gurudwara as well as the Narmada temple on a small island. The boat men will also offer to take you across to view the aarti from the river 




















3.BARGI DAM

  •  It is just 40kms south of Jabalpur city
  • It took almost 16 years for completion of this project
  • The height of the dam is 69 m and length 5.4 km. A lake of about 75 km in length and 4.5 km width, spreading over 267.97 km². In JabalpurMandla and Seoni districts is formed when the water is impounded up to the dam FRL of 422.76 m.
  • Bargi Dam is one of the first completed dams out of the chain of 30 major dams to be constructed on Narmada River in Madhya PradeshIndia. Two major irrigation projects, named Bargi Diversion Project and Rani Avantibai Lodhi Sagar Project, have been developed by Bargi Dam. 










4.TILWARA GHAT

  • Can be reached by local transportation or private vehicle. Which is at 6-7 km from bus stop (teenpati)
  • Tilwara Ghat Jabalpur is one of the favored destinations among the tourists because of the historical significance and the religious importance the place is given.

  • Tilwara Ghat Jabalpur has a special place in the Indian history as the place, Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed into the Narmada river. It is also the venue for the opening session of the Tripuri Congress in 1939.
  • Tilwara Ghat in Jabalpur in India is situated on the banks of the river Narmada and is considered to be holy like the Ganga. Tilwara Ghat Madhya Pradesh is the best developed among the several ghats around the Narmada river and has the Gandhi Smarak.










  •                          5.DUMNA NATURE PARK
  • The Dumna Nature Reserve is situated on the way to Jabalpur Dumna Airport, some 10km from the center of Jabalpur. It is an eco tourism site opened for the general public 

  • The site is suitable for nature walks during which many wild animals like deer, Chitals, wild boar, porcupine, jackals, monkeyand many other species of birds are visible along the way. Tourists also have an opportunity to go for boating at the Khandari Dam located near this reserve.
  • The other attractions in the Dumna Nature Reserve include hanging bridge, tent platform, rest house, fishing platform etc












6.MADAN MAHAL FORT
  • It is placed near jabalpur city which is  about 5km from bus station

  • Madan Mahal is a sub urban area of Jabalpur famous for the historical Durgavati fort. The area also has a railway station named As madan mahal.
  • The fort is well associated with Rani Durgavati the Gond Queen and her son Madan Singh. Rani Durgavati eventually died fighting the Moguls and is hailed as a martyr in Indian history. She also built numerous temples and tanks scattered around Jabalpur chiefly around her Garha principality.















7. PARIYAT
  • Distance from Jabalpur to Pariyat Dam 23 kms (14.00 miles)
  • IF you love long drive then pariyat is the best place.

8. JAIN MANDIR 
  • Pisanhari Ki Madiya is a famous Jain pilgrimage located near the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur. It is known since last 500 years for its extra ordinary story of a dedicated and God loving women who built it.
  •  Pisanhari Ki Madiya is believed to be built by a lady whose name is lost in history. Once she heard the preaching of a Jain monk and was inspired to built a Jain temple. But she was poor and grinding of wheat floor by hand driven grinder was the only source of income for her. But she didn't lose hope and worked harder to earn more. When she collected sufficient money she went on the hill top and began building the temple.













9.KACHNAR CITY

  • Here you can find statue of lord Shiva , which was near to vijay Nagar in jabalpur city.
  • Kachnar City is the nickname of Vijayanagar, a newly developed posh locality of Jabalpur city. The Shiva idol here is the latest tourist attraction of Jabalpur city.
  • With the development of Kachnar city, the builders developed a 76 ft. high statue of lord Shiva under open sky. It also houses a cavern with replicas of Shivalingam from important holy shrines of Lord Shiva all over country. The huge Shiva idol was completed in year 2006 and made available to general public and devotees.




10.JAMTARA BRIDGE
  • The very old narrow gauge rail bridge over the Narmada river, built by the British when they ruled India.

  • Narmada river is flowing under the bridge.
